Crochet, easy new born vest

I used two strands of 5 ply yarn for the vest and 12 ply yarn for the blue trimming.
Amount of yarn, main color, two 25 gm balls. Small amount of contrast color.
Size 5.00mm hook for the vest and size 4.00mm for the trim.
Very quick and easy to make up. Size new born to 3 months.
Starting at the bottom of the vest.
DC= yo hook, insert hook into loop, draw through yarn, yo hook, draw through 2 loops, yo hook, draw through 2 loops again. (Australian/English term for dc is trbl)

Ch 3 is beginning dc of every row.
Ch 63, work 1 dc in 3rd chain from hook and in each ch across, ch 3 turn (61 dc)
1 dc in 2nd dc from hook and in each dc across, ch 3 turn.
Work 9 more rows as above.

Divide for right side:
Working in blo, dc across to 11th dc, ch 3 turn (12 dc)
DEC: 1 dc in next 10 dc, ch 3 turn (11 dc)
1 dc in next 10 dc, ch 3 turn (11 dc)
1 dc in next 9 dc, ch 3 turn (10dc)
1 dc in next 9 dc, fasten off yarn.

Working Across the back:
Attach yarn to the 7th dc from right, side edge
ch 3 in same st, working in blo, dc across next 24 dc, ch 3 turn
Work 4 more rows of dc, then fasten off.

Working the Left Side.

DEC:sl st across to 2nd dc, ch 3 in 2nd dc, 1 dc in next 10 dc,ch 3, turn
1 dc in next 10 dc, turn
sl st across to 2nd dc, ch 3 in 2nd dc, 1 dc in next 9 dc,ch 3, turn
1 dc in next 8 dc, fasten off.
Using back stitch, sew shoulder seams together, sew in all loose ends.

For the trim, sc evenly around the vest and around the sleeves.
Tassels are short lengths of yarn, sl st into the blo rows.
Vest can be worn with or with out buttons.
Enjoy the pattern.
The shoes are made from a fake mary jane pattern.
The bonnet is made from Bev's easy round baby hat, with just a few modifications.

Brides Garter and Ring Bearer's Pillow

This is what I am working on at the moment. 24.01.08

Apart from sore eye's and frogging it ( a phrase I learnt for undoing and reworking)

I enjoyed working with these items.

The pattern for the garter is not mine, you can the pattern here.

The ring cushion/pillow is my creation.

I will type up the pattern and post it.

I have not as yet stuffed the pillow.

I've used ear ring hooks to hold the rings.

Both items have the same colored beads.

I'll be back to post a the picture of the finished pillow.

Here is the finished set.

Granny Square Bag/Purse

Granny Squares and Bags
This was pretty easy and fast to make.
It's simply made from 6 granny squares sewn together.
Then I used the crochet moss stitch around the top of the bag.
I have found a very strong way of making the handles for the bags.
It's simply a length of chain-hdc around both sides of the chain, then complete with rsc (crab st).
That hdc is American English. I suppose the translation for it would be htrbl.
I read so many American English patterns, I find my self writing in those terms.
